We are looking for a Sr. Manager, Human Resources to join our International Consumer and Corporate (ICC) HR team in the MENA region.
In this role, you will lead HR support for multiple organizational groups based out of the MENA region across different business lines including teams within NA Consumer, Advertising, Public Policy, Ad Sales and Legal teams. The employees supported are based out of multiple corporate Amazon locations across UAE, KSA, Jordan and Egypt with most of the employees based out of UAE and Egypt. You will report into the Head of HR for MENA.
Key Responsibilities
You will develop MENA HR strategy for the teams your org supports which will dive deep into multiple aspects of the employee lifecycle. You will be responsible for providing strong HR leadership and direction to your HR team in the region to execute against the defined vision. A key aspect of the role will be to build and preserve the Amazon Day 1 culture across teams in the region and to build the right policies and processes that help drive Amazon expansion in the region. You will provide inputs on the HR implications of strategic and operational decisions and plans, partnering with the business on organizational design, workforce planning, expansion roadmaps, and leadership strategy to meet the business objectives. You will liaison with the talent acquisition teams to attract, hire and retain the right candidates and you will drive compensation and benefits strategies for the teams you support in partnership with the compensation & benefits teams across Amazon. You will also contribute to the broader global HR teams across MENA and Amazon, thus working across a broader remit.
As successful candidate you should have demonstrated:
Innovative thinking and understanding of how to build an effective strategic HR team in high growth, fast-paced, technology driven environment. Ability to engage on strategic business matters at both the conceptual and tactical levels, high judgment, excellent organization and systems thinking, and a passion for building and driving results through collaborative engagement at all levels of the organization. In addition to broad HR expertise and experiences, you should also have a history of:
(1) Exhibiting thought leadership, building a vision that inspires teams, applying operational excellence; techniques to implement that vision, and being known for partnering well in high-velocity environment(s) with clients, HR peers and HR central teams to meet business objectives;
(2) Building and scaling an HR team across locations and delivering through remote leadership.
(3) Operating outside of standard playbooks, finding new solutions which lead to tangible results;
(4) Culture champion who can not only coach and guide peers and Sr. leaders on the cultural aspects but also build scalable mechanisms to audit and preserve Day 1 culture in the region
(5) An inclusive leadership style operating at ease with teams across different countries and time zones.
(6) Testing new hypotheses and taking a creative data-driven approach;
(7) Executing and delivering impactful people projects with small driven teams; always seeing room for improvement despite demonstrated success in the past;
(8) Being a developer of talent, with a passion for hiring and talent assessment to ensure the right people are in the right roles plus developing and empowering colleagues at all levels across Amazon;
(9) Striking the right balance between speed/flexibility and process/compliance, deploying a highly analytical approach to ensure that the organization rigorously measures and analyzes the right things to drive success;
(10) Continuously seeing around corners to anticipate future talent needs and developing strategies to meet the needs of rapidly scaling teams while also scaling themselves and the HR team to stay a step ahead;
(11) Maintaining relentlessly high standards with a high degree of integrity, personally and professionally;
